Leonardo Quintero, better known as Leo Quintero, is a composer, guitarist, arranger and
producer, born in Caracas, Venezuela. He has lived in Miami since 1995.
he has continued making music as a performer, composer, producer and works as a music instructor.
Graduated with honors (Cum Laude) from the Berklee College of Music, in Boston, United
States; Leo was a member of the Berklee faculty from 1991 to 1995.
Leo is widely recognized as a jazz performer, He started his recording career working with his brother Frank Quintero as a Guitarist Producer, Arranger, Composer and Songwriter on over a dozen Albums. Aside from that Leo has participated in many projects such as
Tiger's Baku (tour of the USA, Canada and Japan 1981-1984), The Bob Moses Band (tour of
Europe 1985-1986), Igor Buttman Quintet (Boston 1989-1990), Paquito de Rivera and the
Habana Ensemble (Boston 1991), The Road Quartet (Miami 1998-2004). In 2000, he also
shared with Arturo Sandoval and Chick Corea at the Jam Miami concert along with Ed Calle,
Claudio Roditi, Horacio “El Negro” Hernández, Poncho Sánchez, Pete Escovedo, and Dave Samuels,
Aswell as working with Tony Succar, Sammy Figueroa, and Jose Negróni on the album “Negróni+9 which was
nominated for the Latin Grammys.
Leo has his own albums such as “Another Day”, “Ofrendas”, released
,and his most recent production is titled “The Christmas Album”.
For more than 50 years he has also been noted for his work as a session guitarist. He highlights
a long career in the style of pop and latin music , which includes works with prominent
international stars of different genres, such as il Divo, Ricardo Montaner, Engelbert
Humperdink, Andres Cepeda, Fonseca, Ilan Chester, Son by Four, Alexander Pires, Alejandro
Montaner, Ricardo Montaner, Frank Quintero, Alejandro Lerner, Franco De Vita, Jon Secada,
Thalía, Olga Tañón, Juan Gabriel, Elvis Crespo, José Luis Rodríguez, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Ricky
Martin, which won the Grammy award for album of the year and Armando Manzanero among
many other artists. 13 of these colaborations have been nominated or won Grammy awards.
In 2014 he joined the Berklee College of Music program, called “Berklee Latino”, traveling and
teaching classes in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Mexico.
he is one of the Performers and Creative Collaborator at Blue Road Records Studio on the projects of composer and singer Miriam Stone.
Currently he delivers private guitar and music lessons in person and or online from his own home studio.
